John Cena, the time-honored WWE legend, has played the role of a mentor to several WWE Superstars, including The Miz. The Miz hopes that he has managed to do justice to Cena’s teachings and guidance during his performances.
In a recent discussion with “SHAK Wrestling”, Miz reminisced about his adversarial bout with Cena at WrestleMania 27 and expressed his appreciation for the wrestling masterclass he received from him.
“[WWE] is all about creating memorable moments. Whether the role is small or large, the aim is to create an incident that becomes the talk of the town. Cena excels at this, and I’ve learned tremendously from him. I sincerely hope I’ve carried out his teachings well,” The Miz stated.
He further indicated his aspiration to compete against Cena as part of the wrestling legend’s impending retirement tour in the interview.
Cena, who has been a WWE Superstar for 23 years, formally announced his impending ring retirement at the 2024 Money in the Bank event, revealing that 2025 would be his final year in action.
In Cena’s most recent WWE match, he teamed up with The Miz and R-Truth to defeat The Judgment Day in the post-WrestleMania 40 episode of RAW.
