Aliyah, who’s real name is Nhooph Al-Areebi, had her final stint in the WWE ring in September of 2022. She was one half of a tag team duo with Raquel Rodriguez. However, they did not manage to successfully defend their WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles against Damage CTRL.
A regrettable rib and shoulder injury during the match led Aliyah away from the WWE spotlight. Her comeback was never realized as she was subsequently released from the professional wrestling company a year later.
She recently made an appearance as a guest on the podcast “Johnny I Pro Show”. Here, she reminisced about her very last WWE match on the September 12 episode of SmackDown.
Highlighted quotes from her podcast appearance can be found below:
When asked about her perspective on the match itself, she enthusiastically recalled, “Oh my goodness, it was my ultimate favourite assignment during my stint in the WWE. The crowd adored us which was sheer magic.”
Commenting on her entrance at the match, Aliyah said, “That was all spontaneous. That’s the brilliance of it. When we got out there, it was simply enchanting. I played the tiny nuisance while she was the strength of the team. Together, we set the mood. The ones in the know, will understand our dynamics. For those who don’t, you simply never will. So, farewell.”
Reflecting on her mishap during the match, she shared, “The level of disbelief was overwhelming. I was completely taken aback. It’s evident through the emotional roller coaster visible during the match. I am genuinely proud of that performance.”
