AJ Styles is set to face off with NOAH Vice President Naomichi Marufuji in the upcoming NOAH Destination 2024 event, scheduled for July 13 at Budokan Hall, as previously reported by eWn.
Cody Rhodes, Undisputed WWE Universal Champion, recently appeared on NOAH’s official YouTube channel and weighed in on the impending Styles vs. Marufuji showdown. While providing his commentary, Rhodes also hinted at the potentiality of him crossing paths with the NOAH Vice President within the ring in the future.
Rhodes mentioned, “It’s not hyperbole to say that Marufuji, how important he is to modern pro wrestling and modern sports entertainment, I mean, if you hit the ropes behind another guy, you call that a ‘Marufuji.’ That’s a Marufuji forearm, that’s what I do. It’s part of my comeback that I have in my own matches, so just that, the fact that I’ve never got in the ring with him, that could be something that could happen down the road.”
Marufuji has recently displayed excitement at the possibility of competing with all WWE Superstars and has extended invites for them to join NOAH events.
