In previously presented news here on eWn, AJ Styles is scheduled to compete against Naomichi Marufuji, the Vice President of NOAH, at the forthcoming NOAH Destination 2024 event. Set to take place on 13th July at Budokan Hall, this much-awaited match promises to be a thrilling spectacle.
Looking back, WWE and NOAH came together for an astounding collaboration in 2023. The event saw Shinsuke Nakamura take on The Great Muta at NOAH’s kick-off event of the year.
Marufuji recently engaged in a conversation with “Planeta Wrestling,” where he revealed his anticipation for the upcoming face-off with Styles. He showered praises for Styles, recognizing him as an extraordinary athlete and one of the industry’s most formidable figures.
“He (Styles) is a remarkable competitor in every sense and among the best at an international level,” opines Marufuji, “I want the audience to get immense enjoyment from our duel, and I firmly believe we can provide that.”
Responding to queries about potential opponents he’d like to take on from WWE or other global companies, Marufuji shows intrigue against any and all WWE Superstars. He also expresses his intentions to invite multiple prominent WWE stars to showcase their skills in NOAH events.
The dignitary of NOAH, though, recognized the importance of additional preparation before stepping into a WWE wrestling ring.
“I harbor interest towards all WWE contenders,” Marufuji conveyed, “I would like to extend invitations to several wrestling mavens to compete in NOAH. However, for competing in WWE, I perceive the need for more training beforehand, and hence, can’t commit to it immediately.”
The prospective association between WWE and NOAH is still a matter of speculation. Only time will tell how this association unfolds and its implications on the wrestling landscape.
