Finn Balor, WWE World Tag Team Champion, recently shared on the podcast “What’s The Story” about signing a renewed five-year contract with WWE earlier this year.
Balor, who had a noteworthy debut with WWE in 2014 as part of the NXT roster, had some words to highlight from the podcast discussion:
Speaking on his latest contract extension, Balor enthusiastically said: “Indeed, I have signed on for another five years. It’s thrilling. It’s unpredictable. I remember thinking at 20 that reaching 30 would be quite the feat. Now in my 40s, I sometimes wonder, ‘Do they still want me here? Am I capable of continuing this? What toll is it taking on my body?’ After a few important dialogues, it was apparent that both parties were on the same page – they wanted me to stick around and so did I. We sorted everything out and I couldn’t be more satisfied with the outcome.”
When asked about his experience in WWE, he reflected: “It was an unconventional time. My contract was up for renewal in six months. ‘Is this the end of my course? Time to explore new paths?’ Ten years seems spectacular. I spent six years in England and I thought, ‘Irrespective of what happens, England will always hold the most significant part of my career.’ Following which I ventured to Japan for eight years. ‘I stayed eight years in Japan, this surely will be the dominant portion of my career.’ However, I decided to try my luck with WWE, perhaps stay two or three more years and then return to Ireland or Japan. Currently, I am ten years deep into WWE with another five years left, hoping that they don’t let me go. It’s been an incredibly unpredictable journey so far.”
