Steph De Lander, a prominent personality in the professional wrestling world, has highlighted an alarming new promotion that has reportedly been soliciting explicit photographs from women wrestlers for its promotional activities.
De Lander, who hails from Melbourne, Australia and is a major contender for TNA Wrestling, used her Twitter platform to caution her fellow female colleagues against a potentially dangerous entity known as Marco Polo Wrestling. To illustrate her point, she shared a brief excerpt from a message that prospective talents might encounter. The note states as follows,
“To take a step further in familiarising ourselves with you, we request for three photographs (one taken from the front, another from the side, and a third from the rear, each showcasing the whole body) of you in the nude sans any makeup, as our theme revolves around mature topics. We only recruit a highly qualified team of makeup artists, and your body measurements would assist us in tailoring custom-made swimsuits and lingerie for you. We would value your input on suggesting more prospective individuals to join our team.”
Marco Polo Wrestling, interestingly, has yet to conduct a single event anywhere globally. This fact has led to speculations that the so-called promotion might be an elaborate ruse.
In the past, under the alias Persia Pirotta, De Lander was associated with WWE.
Via her tweet on July 9, 2024, she warned, “🚨 BEWARE OF ‘MARCO POLO WRESTLING’ 🚨 emails such as the one I shared are being directed to female wrestlers worldwide. I suspect this might not be a legitimate company, but we need to ensure it doesn’t metamorphose into a real one.”
