At the 2024 WWE Money In The Bank broadcast, Drew McIntyre found himself under an unexpected attack by CM Punk, ruining his chance at the Money In The Bank cash-in. This surprise move enabled Damian Priest to sustain his WWE World Heavyweight Championship in the face-off against Seth Rollins.
WWE Hall of Famer Bully Ray, during his recent conversation on the “Busted Open Radio” podcast, drew parallels between the growing discord between McIntyre and Punk and the piquant interplay between Wile E. Coyote and Road Runner, renowned characters from the cherished animated Looney Tunes series.
Ray expressed his perspective by stating, “It almost feels very Wile E. Coyote and Road Runner-esque right now. The Road Runner always got the best of Wile E. Coyote. I’m not even so sure that if McIntyre gets his hands on Punk, people are gonna care. They might even boo, despite the fact that he would be right because they’re not eye-for-an-eye right now. Punk has taken both of Drew’s eyes and a nut.”
Post the highly intense WWE Money In The Bank 2024 event, RAW’s General Manager, Adam Pearce, penalized both Punk and Mcintyre with a fine. However, Pearce took an extra step by putting McIntyre under suspension and amplified his fine twice over.
