WWE revealed during Sunday evening’s NXT: Heatwave 2024 pay-per-view occasion that the NXT: The Great American Bash 2024 presentation will take place on Tuesday, August 6, and broadcast on Syfy.
Dave Meltzer, wrestling news correspondent on Wrestling Observer Radio, uncovered that the resolution to broadcast the Great American Bash on Syfy was made due to the occurrence of the Olympics.
Notably, the WWE made a similar move in transferring Monday Night RAW to Syfy amid the Winter Olympics. Such a strategy is part of WWE’s attempts to address dwindling viewership figures by showcasing a remarkable event.
In Meltzer’s words, “Undoubtedly due to the presence of the Olympics. I would envisage that RAW would be relocated as well, as we saw during the last Winter Olympics, RAW made the move to Syfy. Hence, planning a major show seems to be their approach in tackling the slump in numbers.”
The exact plans of WWE for the special episode of the Great American Bash on August 6 remain unknown as of now.
