Most Disappointing Moment
This event didn’t offer much except for the transformation of the NXT Championship. The remaining was just pointless wrestling, with little significance beyond watching two or more people wrestle.
For me, who thrives on evolving storylines, this was not enough. I crave more than just the thrills or punches like in an action movie. The lack of additional substance makes it hard for me to engage with many other companies.
It’s not as if the fights were poor. Roxanne Perez and Lola Vice did have promising moments. However, even decent matches aren’t enough to mark it as an enthralling event. None of the matches were memorable, nor outstanding, enough for me to recall them specifically.
The peculiar mix of heel/heel and face/face dynamics and the absence of build-up for some matches left me questioning the choice of matches. If this was WWE’s attempt at curating the best fights, then I am disappointed because none of these matches are worth watching retrospectively.
I hope that the upcoming NXT on Tuesday brings a change in dynamics and progresses the storylines. Currently, it feels stagnant, no different than it was two weeks ago.
Standout Moment
Highlighting moments of this event is a task. Don’t misconstrue, it wasn’t detestable, just lacked discussion-worthy points. The most significant occurrence was Trick Williams losing the NXT Championship, but whether that’s a positive development, I’m unsure.
The small glimmer of positivity for me was the Joe Hendry teaser at the show’s completion.
It seems to indicate a higher possibility of TNA wrestlers returning to NXT, a storyline that has been neglected recently. Hendry, being a figure of interest for many, including me, could potentially play a larger role moving forward, making this a point of intrigue.
