In the wrestling ring, Oba Femi has clearly demonstrated that he is a formidable contender. However, that doesn’t mean the Nigerian is averse to recruiting NBA stars to his side.
In a recent episode of the podcast “The A Show,” Femi engaged in a conversation about NBA players Jalen Brunson and Tyrese Haliburton, who made an appearance on the June 28th episode of WWE SmackDown.
When probed as to which NBA star he’d like to have on his team in WWE, Femi didn’t hesitate to select Bronny James, LeBron James’s son. Expressing his choice, he humorously stated,
“Oh, right now? Bronny boy. Little Bronny [laughs]. Baby Bronny. Yeah, why not?”
The show’s hosts tossed around alternatives like Giannis Antetokounmpo or Joel Embiid, but Femi disagreed, particularly with Giannis. He highlighted his issue with the latter, expressing,
“I’m angry with Giannis because he can’t find a way to get everybody to pronounce his name correctly. He does let people vary his name constantly. Because of that, he’s disqualified, he can’t be in my corner.”
Currently, Femi is enjoying his premier reign as the NXT North American Champion, a title he secured in January of the current year. He is set for a match against Wes Lee at the WWE NXT: Heatwave pay-per-view happening tonight.
In the latest episode of “The A Show,” Oba Femi also discusses facing TNA talent, 10 Star Matches, his NXT championship, and his upcoming bout with Gunther.
