Becky Lynch, a Former WWE Women’s Champion, Goldberg, and Dijak are among several high-profile free agents currently in the wrestling world. Tony Khan, the President and CEO of AEW, hinted on today’s AEW x NJPW: Forbidden Door press conference that his organization will remain active in scouting and signing free agents.
Below are some key points from the media conference:
Regarding the status of free agents in wrestling: “There are some exceptional free agents available right now. The names you mentioned are very significant. I hold everyone you’ve mentioned in high esteem, but it probably would not be in my or AEW’s best interests to publicly share my thoughts on contracts, potential negotiations, or dealings with them. Nonetheless, I do acknowledge they are all exceptional talents.”
About AEW signing some top-tier free agents in the past year: “The past year has been significant for us in terms of free agency; we signed those four, among several others. We will stay focused and active in the free agency market. Whenever there’s someone with the caliber of those four, who happen to be four of my all-time favorite wrestlers, I’m always going to be interested in getting involved.”
