The President of AEW, Tony Khan, has expressed his keen interest in bringing Kenny Omega back into the AEW line-up.
Although Kenny Omega has been absent, a large portion of fans still believes that the AEW roster as it stands is one of the most commendable in the history of professional wrestling. The list of non-active AEW wrestlers is equally impressive, including Adam Cole, Bandido, Adam Copeland, Eddie Kingston, Jamie Hayter, Kota Ibushi, Miro, Britt Baker, and Powerhouse Hobbs.
During his recent discussion with “WGN Radio 720,” Khan was queried about the current status of Jamie Hayter, Britt Baker, and Ricky Starks.
Khan responded, “Well, these individuals are some distinct wrestling talents who have been at the forefront of AEW. In each instance, I am looking forward to having them back. They all have unique situations—some due to injuries and others due to different reasons. But each of them is a commendable wrestler, in different situations, hence differing updates. However, I want to emphasize my high appreciations for all these three wrestlers.”
Khan later talked about the potential comeback of Omega, mentioning,
“We have many other talented wrestlers who are absent at the moment. I am eagerly waiting for the comeback of the Executive Vice President and former Triple Crown Champion, the only person to hold World Titles in AEW, in Trios, Tag Team, and AEW World Champion, Kenny Omega, who is also one of the greatest of all time. We are all looking forward to Kenny’s return. Many incredible AEW wrestlers are currently unavailable for various reasons, predominantly injuries, and I am anticipating their return. However, right now, our roster is at its best ever, and it is set to get better every week as more people recover and join the active roster.”
Omega’s last match was on AEW Collision aired on December 5th. His most recent appearance was in the May 1st episode of AEW Dynamite.
