On a recent guest episode on Maven’s YouTube platform, WWE Hall of Famer, The Undertaker, took a trip down memory lane, recounting his iconic Hell in a Cell bout with Shawn Michaels at WWE Badd Blood in 1997. This fight has gone down in history as the first-ever Hell in a Cell match.

The Undertaker drew comparisons between the cell used for his showdown with Michaels and the cell in his match against Mick Foley at WWE King of the Ring 1998. He fondly remembered that the cell for his duel with Michaels was exceedingly superior.

Staying true to his words, Undertaker asserted, “This cage was so much better built than the one that me and Mick worked. Yeah, and when Mick and I were just walking on top beforehand, you can hear the metal ties as our weight was — as we were stepping on them, you can hear them [flying off]. They were flying off and you can see, because our feet were just getting deeper and deeper.”

The launch Hell in a Cell match crowned Shawn Michaels as the victor, largely due to Kane’s support. Meanwhile, The Undertaker was able to subdue Mick Foley, famously known as Mankind, at King of the Ring 1998. The Undertaker’s dialogue on the notable first Hell in a Cell match can be watched below.
