In the recent WWE SmackDown episode, Cody Rhodes experienced an unfortunate incident where he sustained an injury. This event marked the first appearance of Jacob Fatu, the former MLW Champion.
During the final sequences of SmackDown, Fatu launched an attack on Rhodes, along with Randy Orton, and Kevin Owens. He sealed the attack with a splash on Rhodes through a table.
Upon appearing at a WWE live event on Saturday night, Rhodes revealed that during the attack he incurred two broken ribs. Nonetheless, he will endure his injury. He remarked,
“The dedicated WWE supporters witnessed what transpired on SmackDown. So, before anyone else divulges the news, here’s a little teaser for you Bloomington. It turns out, I ended up with two broken ribs last night.
“The suggestion [backstage] was ‘Well, you could opt out of participating in Bloomington, skip Kalamazoo, and maybe even the next Friday where everything began back in 1978 in New York City.’ But to that proposal, my response was a resounding, absolute ‘Hell No!'”
Reportedly, the WWE’s future strategy involves Rhodes defending the Undisputed WWE Championship against Solo Sikoa at the WWE SummerSlam 2024.
