In a recent conversation with Renee Paquette, All Elite Wrestling (AEW) star Christopher Daniels reflected on his first X-Division Title victory in 2005 and discussed its importance in his professional wrestling career.
Here are some notable points from their talk:
Discussing the title win that held the most significance to him, he explained, “I have to say probably the first X-Division title I held in TNA. Mainly because I was in the company of such an impressive roster of talent. Referring to talented individuals like AJ Styles, Samoa Joe, Frankie Kazarian, and Sonjay Dutt, Low-Ki, and Chris Sabin amongst others. This crew was a significant reason for TNA’s popularity in that time, and that’s where most people recognize me from.”
Speaking about the atmosphere during that period for TNA Wrestling, he said, “That unique period in pro wrestling, everyone kind of looks back at the X-Division and the individuals involved warmly. I was thrilled to be part of that group and able to contend with all those guys. It was fabulous.”
Daniels’ tenure as X-Division champion ended when he lost to AJ Styles in a thrilling triple threat match at TNA Unbreakable 2005. This match also featured the skilled Samoa Joe.
