A recent report from Fightful Select has shed light on the recent injury sustained by WWE NXT Superstar, Javier Bernal.
The injury was said to have happened during the recording of the preceding week’s NXT Level Up episode. Bernal was participating in a tag team match, facing off against Chase U.
The report clearly recounts the incident, noting that it happened when Riley Osborne decided to do an audacious dive outside the ring. The impact of this manoeuvre forced Bernal’s leg to give way under the pressure. The seriousness of the injury became instantly apparent when Bernal found himself unable to stand without support. A referee and his tag team partner, Drake Morreaux, had to immediately step in to assist him after the match concluded.
It’s been stated that no blame has been cast on Osborne for the incident, as those inside NXT view it as an unfortunate twist of fate. Bernal himself confirmed that the injury turned out to be a broken foot that requires surgical intervention. He reportedly expects to be out of the ring for an estimated half a year.
Notwithstanding the hindrance, Bernal’s commitment to perfecting his on-screen character and his professional deportment have garnered him much respect from a number of WWE talents. Many express belief in his capacity to recover and resume his career without interruption after recovering from his injury, an opinion is shared by another NXT colleague.
Javier Bernal was welcomed into WWE in 2021 and marked his NXT start in January 2022.
