Damian Priest relished in provoking fans at WWE Castle Clash, while an updated list of WWE NXT was released.

Damian Priest relished his victory over Drew McIntyre at WWE Clash at the Castle: Scotland, in spite of not being the fan favourite in Glasgow. He shared his thoughts with the media after the event.

During the post-event media huddle, the current WWE World Heavyweight Champion discussed his reception from the audience, being labelled a fleeting champion, amongst other things.

You can view key points from the media interview below:

On the hostile reaction to his win: “This crowd has been a favourite of mine, primarily because their expectation was for me to lose. Their disappointment was my victory. There’s nothing better to me than proving wrong those who said I cannot achieve something. This place, so far, tops my list.

On being called a transitional champion: “This is another opportunity to prove people wrong. Before becoming champion, critics said I couldn’t, but I did. Same for holding the title. Also, beating Drew in Scotland was seen as an impossibility, but I did it. Despite being called a paper champion and predictions that I would lose, I am still the World Heavyweight Champion and the face of Monday Night Raw. I stand tall against all adversities and negativity. I am the reigning champion and I intend to keep it that way.”

On CM Punk’s role in the match: “I was not aware that he was at the event. His involvement came as a surprise when I saw him in the referee’s jersey and later learned about his role backstage. I am open to sharing the ring with him when he returns, given his illustrious career so far. But he must earn his spot, as I am currently the World Champion.”

WWE announced that Oba Femi, the NXT North American Champion, will appear in the upcoming NXT TV episode.
