On the latest episode of his podcast titled “The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy,” wrestling veteran Matt Hardy, who made a name for himself in Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA), shared his thoughts on Ethan Page’s first wrestling match under World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) at NXT Battleground 2024. Page faced off against NXT Champion Trick Williams in his debut.
Speaking highly of his former All Elite Wrestling (AEW) teammate, Hardy anticipated a successful future for Page in WWE NXT.
Here are some of the notable excerpts from his podcast:
Discussing Ethan Page’s inaugural WWE match, Hardy confessed, “Honest truth, I still need to find time to watch the full match, and I intend to. But I can confidently say that I’m proud of him and happy for him. I am thrilled to see him getting this chance and without a doubt, I am hopeful for his success. Not that I need to hope, considering his level of talent. He absolutely excels, and I am convinced he’ll make a significant impact at NXT and WWE. The platform appreciates sport entertainers and this should provide him with more possibilities for progress.”
Talking about Drew McIntyre’s remarkable professional turnaround, Hardy expressed, “Indeed [resilience is key]. It’s heartening to see that persistent individuals who remain hopeful, believe in their own capabilities, and take risks can accomplish anything in the end. Drew stands as the perfect case in point. Despite facing career lows and being let go, he put in persistent efforts post-release. He became active in the independent circuit, traveling constantly, and honing his skills at various places across the globe and strived to stay in the best physical shape. There was a marked elevation in his determination and drive then. Oftentimes, a setback, akin to losing everything, can be the greatest motivator and impel you to elevate your game, which is what happened with Drew. He evolved, acquired new skills, boosted his confidence, and ultimately reclaimed his rightful place in the wrestling world. Seeing him topping the billing at the ‘Clash at the Castle’ is truly inspiring.”
