During the most recent WWE Clash at the Castle: Scotland Kickoff conference, esteemed interviewer Michael Cole engaged Cody Rhodes in a conversation concerning his impending I Quit match, along with his planned defense of the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship against AJ Styles, slated for tomorrow.
In the course of the dialogue, Cole shed light on the fact that this will be the 26th occurrence of the I Quit match in WWE chronology. On six occasions, the title was at stake, and four of those times, the defending champions persevered. From this statistic, it would appear that the tide is in Cody’s favour. But, considering this role, it’s possible that you’ve only been exposed to WWE and not beyond. Despite your ambassador role and the ardor you’ve exhibited for the flag, I would like to emphasize that—this is something Scotland understands—I learned to ‘get down and dirty’ when I exited the WWE ring. Have you heard of a group called The Bullet Club? Adopting Michael’s probing nature, I’ll now turn the question to you: can I muster the ferocity to defeat AJ Styles? Do I possess the wrath necessary to go full Homelander and incapacitate AJ Styles?
