YouTuber Jake Paul expressed deep disappointment after hearing the unexpected news that his eagerly awaited boxing match with WWE Hall of Fame selectee, Mike Tyson, was postponed. The delay was attributed to health concerns surrounding Tyson.
Previously scheduled for a summer clash in July, the fight has now been moved to November. The much-publicized bout will take place at Arlington’s famed AT&T Stadium.
In an interview with Sports Illustrated correspondent Justin Barrasso, Paul shared his sentiments about the delay of his boxing match with Tyson. He asserted,
“I certainly was crushed and deeply saddened, as I was hankering for this fight to materialize in July. I found myself needing to hit the brakes, find tranquillity through meditation, and realign my ambitions and my mission. I am maintaining my training regimen, persistently honing my skills each day, because my dedication towards the objective of being a world champion is unwavering.”
Paul made his presence felt in the WWE during WWE Crown Jewel 2022. Providing support for his sibling Logan, Paul played an active role during a title match for the Undisputed WWE Universal Title against reigning champion, Roman Reigns.
Mike Tyson has had a longstanding relationship with wrestling, extending back to the hype leading up to WrestleMania 14 in 1998. This association with WWE culminated in Tyson being formally recognized with a Hall of Fame induction in 2012.
