Javier Bernal has made public that he will be out of action for roughly six months following a broken foot injury he sustained during recent NXT Level Up TV tapings. He shared that the injury will require surgical intervention.
In a lengthy Instagram post, Bernal detailed the extent of his injury and also spoke about his determination to make a full recovery. His statement read,
“I first want to express my thanks to the best fans, the greatest friends, and an amazing fiancée. The wave of love and support I experienced this week has certainly uplifted my spirit in these difficult times. It’s your support that has gotten me through this challenging week and I am confident it will help me in my recovery journey.
For those not in the know, a few of the bones in my foot got fractured during last night’s Level Up. Despite initial hopes that surgery wouldn’t be needed, it appears that it will most likely be the required treatment. Despite being heartbroken to be in this position, I want to clarify one thing:
Every single day, I am committed to delivering the best experience I can. As much as I am presently upset, frustrated, and even scared, I also feel excitement. The excitement comes from the opportunity to give you someone to believe in. @WWE is dedicated to providing heroes for the fans, and I want to be that hero. I’ve looked up to many people, many of whom have been through similar experiences. Now it’s my turn.
I promise you, I will make sure you have someone to believe in.”
