Drew McIntyre, the famed wrestler, recently shared his experience of spontaneosly performing a song with Tyson Fury during Clash At The Castle 2022. This event came as a comic relief following McIntyre’s distressing defeat at the hands of Roman Reigns.
Known as the ‘Scottish Warrior’, McIntyre barely missed out on winning against then-Undisputed WWE Universal Champion in Cardiff, Wales. The loss was quite controversial and was caused due to a muddle created by Solo Sikoa.
During his conversation with Cultaholic, he reminisced about his rendition of the classic “American Pie” that he performed with Tyson Fury. The purpose of the performance was to lighten up the environment and cheer up the audience. He expressed,
“I was so thrilled being a part of Clash in Wales and being involved in the inaugural stadium show since SummerSlam 92’. It was quite disheartening to lose and then perform right after. However, it’s a relief to see your hard work paying off and you earn a second chance to prove yourself. Above all, the rematch couldn’t be more perfect. It’s happening in Glasgow, where I studied for four years and not far away from my birthplace.”
He further added,
“We have to set things right this time because me, my family and the UK cannot afford another disappointment like last time. A repeat of such a catastrophic event might shatter the spirits of the UK, hence, this time, I am determined to win.”
McIntyre is geared up to challenge WWE World Heavyweight Champion Damian Priest at WWE Clash At The Castle: Scotland on June 15th.
