Wrestling superstar Chad Gable’s contract with WWE has finally hit its expiration date today. Despite WWE expressing their keen interest in retaining him, there’s an almost certain chance that he’ll attract attention from numerous other wrestling organizations.
Reports suggest that there is substantial support from athletes in a number of external organizations advocating for his acquisition. Gable has been getting a lot of screen time lately as he takes on the role of the leader of Alpha Academy and morphs into a villain character.
Esteemed wrestling journalist Dave Meltzer sheds some light on this in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter:
“Chad Gable is a man in demand, with both AEW and WWE vying for his talents. From what we understand, WWE has put an impressive offer on the table to retain him. However, AEW cannot legally make a move until Gable’s WWE contract is officially over. Interestingly, several influential figures within AEW are nudging him in the direction of Tony Khan. But for this to happen, Gable would have to let his WWE deal expire first. On a side note, Gable is currently riding the highest wave of his solo career.”
