Following last Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite broadcast, a match between Serena Deeb and Mina Shirakawa has been confirmed for the upcoming AEW Rampage episode.
Deeb’s scheduled face off against Shirakawa marks her initial match since losing to Toni Storm, the AEW Women’s World Champion, at AEW Double Or Nothing 2024.
This match announcement is the first of its kind for the upcoming Friday’s AEW Rampage, which is set to resume its typical air time of 10 PM ET/7 PM PT on TNT.
Moreover, Wheeler Yuta made a noteworthy comeback in the AEW Dynamite ring, sharing his reflections on his wrestling return post-show.
Siding with his Blackpool Combat Club teammates, Yuta saw victory against CMLL’s Esfinge, Magnus, Rugido, and Volador Jr.
In a post-match “Digital Exclusive,” Yuta released a statement saying, “After a grueling five months, I’m glad I could get back in there and contribute to our team’s victory against formidable CMLL competitors. It has been difficult observing everything from my couch, and waiting for the opportunity to defend my championship again.”
He continued, “When I embraced wrestling, I was ready to put my physical health on the line. But with injuries related to the brain, the fear level elevates. I don’t wish to experience perpetual migraines or gym-induced dizziness. As much as wrestling is demanding, I can’t envision myself doing anything else. So, yes, I am back now to resume wrestling and defend my championship. I will look out for my Blackpool Combat Club brothers while doing what I do best. I’m here to stay.”
