In a newly conducted interview with the widely known online platform Dexerto, Deonna Purrazzo, a former talent of WWE and TNA and current AEW star, disclosed her views on the recent alliance between WWE and TNA Wrestling, voicing her surprise at the unfolding scenario.
You can extract some key parts from the podcast interview below:
Discussing her not getting a rematch for the AEW Women’s Title, she stated: “[Toni] never recognized that she tapped out. I would currently be the AEW Women’s World Champion. Toni tapped out. A rematch was never offered to me.”
Relating to WWE’s alliance with TNA, Purrazzo expressed: “The idea of WWE collaborating with any entity…it’s quite awe-striking for everyone. No one ever thought to put that in their forecast. The fact that they are nurturing this bond with TNA, where numerous people, including my husband, and Jordynne Grace are, seeing them getting that opportunity is extraordinary. If this relationship thrives and brings about more opportunities, not only for Jordynne Grace, but for everyone on the roster, it could turn into something really memorable. This is sure to attract more attention to the product.”
On the possibility of another showdown with Mayu Iwatani, she shared: “Iwatani has consistently delivered remarkable performances. We had a chance to compete a bit when I was part of Stardom, and she beat me a while back in the Ring of Honor tournament to declare a women’s champion at that time. She took me out of the competition back then and I hold a grudge, so a rematch would be exciting.”
