Recently, Swerve Strickland was a guest on the “Busted Open Radio” podcast during which he opened up about his current stage in his career and the immense pressure that comes with being the AEW World Champion.
Highlights from Strickland’s conversation during the podcast can be found below:
Talking about his current streak, Strickland said, “This can easily be considered the most critical period of my career. Not just due to the personal achievement of creating history in AEW, but also the external influence it has. Being the first one, I’m now under a microscope more so than ever, primarily because of the historic moment and significance attached to Dynasty win and everything related to it.”
Addressing the weight that accompanies the AEW World Championship title, Strickland expressed, “Now everything gets scrutinized more – the way I carry myself, how I’m represented, and my overall performance. It’s all magnified extensively. Despite potentially becoming a four-time champion in the future, people will always reminisce about the first win.”
