Shawn Michaels, the person responsible for the creativity in WWE NXT, had a conversation with Adrian Hernandez where he shared thoughts on Ethan Page’s debut on the last Tuesday’s episode of WWE NXT. A few highlights from the discussion are sketched out below:
With regard to Ethan Page: Shawn Michaels remarked, “We’re discussing significant matters. Obviously, the topic of All Ego Ethan Page has arisen. I still have quite a few unanswered questions on that topic as it all seemed to happen at the last minute.”
Sharing his views on NXT’s recruitment philosophy, Mr. Michaels said, “In NXT, our relentless pursuit has always been about acquiring the best wrestlers and performers that we can, and also grooming our own talent. This may not be agreeable to some, as was the case when I was young, but in this profession, there’s something for everyone. People have a tendency to want a single approach. However, I have always done things differently in this line of work. Everyone’s likes are unique, and it’s important to cater to this diversity. This mentality is shared by Hunter (Triple H) and me. We strive to deliver the best sports entertainment we can for every spectator. We want to put up impressive wrestling match after impressive wrestling match. We strive to entertain in various ways. Being open to different creative possibilities is beneficial for us. Hunter and I are essentially wrestling fans, and that’s exactly what we’re trying to accomplish. We have considered all potential match-ups. Why not see how many we can actually make happen? There’s no harm in trying.”
