During a recent episode of the “Busted Open Radio” podcast, former WWE Superstar Nic Nemeth expressed his opinions on several subjects, among them was the transition of WWE RAW to Netflix in January 2025.
Here are some of the main points Nemeth made during the podcast:
On the subject of commercial breaks – or lack thereof, Nemeth commented, “With no interruptions in between, I’m keen on seeing a continuous match where you see a dive without thinking, ‘They’re heading to a break; it’s restroom time.’ No, there’s no pause, you’re experiencing this on Netflix. The show runs straight from start to finish. It’s fantastic. What I find intriguing is the unpredictability of it, like, ‘It’s nearing 11 o’clock, Stone Cold should appear any moment now and it will end.’ Now, ‘It’s past 11:15 and it appears they’re in the main event, I can’t tell.’ That uncertainty creates an allure… It adds a certain wrestling vibe to it.”
Discussing how this new platform could extend the performance periods, Nemeth remarked, “You think, ‘Darn, we’re preparing for a pay-per-view and we only got 90 seconds? Trim my entrance, take out my stuff.’ Now, the scenario has changed. Picture this, ‘Unfortunately, Sheamus exceeded his time by 10 minutes, but there’s no need to worry since we’re on Netflix. We will extend the show from two hours and 10 minutes to two hours and 20 minutes.’ And you respond, ‘Sounds good.’”
