Following his victorious performance in the latest AEW Collision event, Adam Copeland revealed his feelings about the significant win. Copeland was successful in retaining his AEW TNT title against opponent Kyle O’Reilly.
Copeland had the following sentiments about the match:
“I took to the ring tonight as part of a demonstration of why I chose AEW as my wrestling home. To grapple with a talent like Kyle O’Reilly in his own hometown, on the 25th anniversary of his first wrestling show viewing – a show I happened to be a participant in. Fast forward a quarter of a century, and the two of us are headlining the main event for the TNT Championship, while Kyle’s father bears witness. I understand that the end result might not have been what he had in mind. But, it was indeed an absolute honor and privilege to compete against such a skilled individual. Feeling the aftermath physically, I can say these are the moments, the pre-match anticipation from the crowd— why I do what I do. Nights like these— they leave me wide awake, buzzing with energy. And the crowd in Vancouver didn’t disappoint either; they were rooting for their homegrown, a fact that I appreciate and understand. Kyle is returning post a severe injury. I share a common understanding there. And the intensity and skill he brought to the ring tonight, I have to acknowledge, if given another chance, he has a high likelihood of coming out victorious. He possesses that level of skills. So strangely, Kyle, thank you.”
