A recent report from the BBC reveals that WWE fans in the UK are worried about the excessively high ticket prices for the forthcoming WWE Clash At The Castle 2024 pay-per-view. The event is lined up to happen at Glasgow’s OVO Hydro on the 15th of June.
The costs for watching the event live, depending on the seating, span from £300 (equivalent to 5) to more than £2,000 (,502). A number of fans voice that these rates could prevent them from being in the audience.
Despite the fears, WWE has stated that there are tickets that initially had lower prices available over the two-nights of the event at the venue. Furthermore, they disclosed that hundreds of seats at the 14,300 capacity event location are yet to be filled.
Here are some of the fans’ comments:
Lewis McLean states: “We don’t make all that much money and my dad, he’s quite ill so we’re not able to travel a lot. To be able to get one of these live events in Scotland is quite a big deal to us. We were planning on getting me, my dad and my cousin. Over all it would be £900 for us all to go an watch WWE with the worst possible seats. It’s just far too much.”
Journalist Ross Brady is of the opinion: “The first prices that went up were for combo tickets of around £330, so I waited for the event on the Saturday and it was £303.50 for just the single ticket. I’ll have to watch it on TV – save myself some money. I am a proper fan of this but I’ll need to miss the one that’s 20 minutes down the road because I’m just not paying extortionate prices.”
Finally, ICW founder Mark Dallas commented: “It’s fantastic that finally, WWE are bringing one of their big events to Glasgow – it’s long overdue. I think it’s a real shame that there’s not more affordable tickets towards the back of the venue at least.”
