WWE had earlier proclaimed its decision to transition SmackDown from FOX to the USA Network within the year. Initially, the proposal was to launch WWE SmackDown on the network in October. Nonetheless, Deadline has conveyed that WWE intends to start broadcasting its Friday evening segment on the USA Network from September 13, despite its contract with FOX concluding at the end of September.
This strategy renders the USA Network as the sole platform for WWE content for at least one month where it will display RAW, SmackDown, and NXT before NXT switches to the CW Network in October. In addition to this, the RAW series is slated for a transition to Netflix in January 2025. Besides, as part of WWE’s arrangement with NBCUniversal, it commits to delivering four special shows on NBC annually.
