Super-heels in wrestling may be something of a rare commodity these days, but John ‘Bradshaw’ Layfield feels there are some that fit the bill.
On a recent edition of the “Busted Open Radio” podcast, JBL discussed the current state of villains in the modern-day era of wrestling where fans are smarter than before. He said,
“You’ve gotta’ have that super-heel, and I’m not sure we’ve had one lately. There’s a couple out there that could be. Drew McIntyre could be one. MJF could be one.”
When asked about Roman Reigns, JBL said the Tribal Chief is now more of an attraction than a heel before discussing his own role as a top villain. He said,
“Vince would be very careful with me. He would say sometimes, ‘You’re too entertaining with your promos. People are going to start liking you.’”
JBL’s most recent appearance for WWE came on the April 29, episode of WWE RAW where he was on hand to reveal picks in the 2024 WWE Draft.
