Keith Lee to defend against Finn Bálor and Johnny Gargano with an opportunity at the NXT Title also on the line
Keith Lee, Finn Bálor and Johnny Gargano are set to collide in a titanic Triple Threat Match for the North American Title with implications for even more gold. The winner will challenge NXT Champion Adam Cole on July 8 in a Winner Take All Match.
Lee, the North American Champion, has eyed Cole’s title for weeks. But he faces an uphill battle to get his opportunity, as he must overcome two former NXT Champions in a match where he doesn’t need to be pinned or submitted to lose his title.
Meanwhile, Bálor has been on a tear since his return to NXT. The Prince has his eyes on a title that he has never captured in his illustrious career on the black-and-gold brand, while Gargano — along with Cole — is the only man to have won both titles previously. And though Johnny Wrestling failed to topple Lee at NXT TakeOver: In Your House, he secured a pinfall victory over The Limitless Superstar in Mixed Tag Team action earlier this month.
