2020 WWE Hall Of Fame Ceremony Potentially Delayed Until Summerslam

This year’s WWE Hall Of Fame ceremony may still take place but we’ll have to wait a bit longer to see it take place.

According to a post from Georgia Smith, daughter of 2020 inductee “British Bulldog” Davey Boy Smith, WWE is considering the possibility of having the ceremony on Summerslam weekend in Boston this August.

Just a heads up! I have spoken with @WWE and they are postponing the Hall of Fame for a later date, and are hoping to do it for Summerslam (which would be appropriate for my dad) thanks again for all your support! Let’s all stay safe out there

Georgia noted that a Summerslam weekend ceremony would be fitting considering her father’s iconic Intercontinental Championship win at the 1992 event in England.

The 2020 WWE Hall of Fame induction ceremony was originally scheduled for Thursday, April 2 at the Amalie Arena in Tampa but it was cancelled this week due to the coronavirus outbreak. WWE also cancelled this year’s NXT TakeOver: Tampa event, but they’ll still host WrestleMania 36 and their various weekly television shows with no crowd at the WWE Performance Center.

This year’s SummerSlam pay-per-view is currently scheduled for August 23 at the TD Garden in Boston. This year’s Hall Of Fame class includes the British Bulldog, Batista, the nWo, JBL, The Bella Twins, and Jushin Thunder Liger, who was confirmed as the latest inductee on Monday morning.
