Earlier this month, there were reports involving the arrest of former WCW, ECW, and WWE wrestler, 2 Cold Scorpio, whose real name is Charles Scaggs. The arrest came after a stabbing incident linked to him.
The event took place on the 15th of June at a Love’s Travel Stop located in Kansas City, MO. At the time, Scaggs was working as a security guard. According to his statement, he spotted a man lighting a cigarette inside the premises and approached him. The confrontation escalated, leading to a physical fight outside where Scaggs stated he acted in self-defense using a knife.
The injured man who was found with multiple wounds accused Scaggs of initiating the clash, which led to his arrest. He was charged with first-degree assault and armed criminal action. Subsequently, Scaggs was released on bond and he had pleaded not guilty to the charges.
This event has led to changes in Scorpio’s planned travel to Japan in August for performances in collaboration with DDT and GCW. DDT officially declared that Scorpio would no longer participate in the events planned for August 12-14.
Here’s the official announcement:
“Notice of Postponement of 2 Cold Scorpio’s Visit to Japan
DDT Dated: 2024.06.26
2 Cold Scorpio was poised to participate in the Korakuen Hall tournament on the 12th of August, as well as the Shinjuku FACE tournament that would be hosted by GCW on the 13th and 14th of August. Nevertheless, owing to legal difficulties encountered in America, he is compelled to defer his trip to Japan. We profoundly regret any inconvenience this has caused to those who were enthusiastically awaiting 2 Cold Scorpio’s matches.”
